Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) compiles client-level data for substance use treatment admissions and discharges from state agency data systems. Many of the facilities that report TEDS data receive state funds or federal block grant funds to provide alcohol and drug treatment services. State laws require substance use treatment programs to report publicly funded admissions.

TEDS data is available for admissions (TEDS-A) and discharge (TEDS-D) records on the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) website below. The SUDDR provides TEDS-A data only. TEDS data is reported for individuals aged 12 years old or older. Data indicators include primary drug of use at admission for: alcohol, cocaine, heroin, prescription opiates, methamphetamines, and marijuana.
